FAITHREMIX is a group centered on a new alternative worship community for an emerging generation — one that recognizes communicating about matters of faith in today's culture must break through language barriers, embrace new communication channels, and put words into action.

FAITHREMIX serves as the launching pad and community think-tank of young adults for creating a relevant, worship culture at FaithWalk that speaks to the issues, lives, and barriers facing young adults today — particularly for twenty-somethings.

The primary target group for this ministry is 18 to 29-year-olds, however, the worship gatherings will be geared for those who are a part of generation X and Y (from those in transition from high school to college, to those of the MTV age), along with anyone who is interested in creative and alternative worship.

This ministry focus is a new and relevant worship culture being created at FaithWalk, specifically for young people.

Currently, our new summer schedule for FAITHREMIX begins on June 14th @ 7:30PM, and will continue weekly (except the July 4th weekend). The new format looks nothing like Sunday mornings and will feature guest artists, along with our worship leader Bryant Hodges, and will include a restructured worship environment and seating area, complimented by creative lighting, drama/skits, video and other multimedia, and engaging group discussion.

Breakdown of Worship Gatherings:

July 26th, August 2nd, 9th, 16, 23rd: "Beautiful Chaos"
This 5-week series will look at the chaos and dysfunction of humans through the creative lens of multimedia, reflection, and discussion. Set against a weekly backdrop of coffeehouse style acoustic music sets, we will be including the use of Rob Bell's NOOMA videos, followed by a reflection talk and then an optional discussion time. Join us for great music and a creative look at how each of us can find beauty in the midst of the chaos we often experience in the everyday, ordinary moments of living.

August 30th: Concert!!!
This Sunday will feature our new monthly concert, featuring multiple bands. There will be a $5 cover charge, and the evening will highlight area bands and artists. Each monthly concert will always announce and set up our next FAITHREMIX series. Don't miss it! Current bands include: The Forever Endeavor, AILYNE, RITK, and more... Additional bands TBA!

Fall 2009 focus (day and time TBD): "UnChristian?"
This 6-week series will focus on the six major themes identified in the book UnChristian, which presents national research for how emerging generations view Christianity, conducted by the Barna Group. These six themes also represent areas the church is often afraid to address: 1) Hypocritical (say one thing do another); 2) Christians are too focused on getting converts (those being witnessed to feel more like targets that people); 3) Antihomosexual (bigoted toward gays and lesbians); 4) Sheltered (too old-fashioned and disconnected from the times); 5) Too political (overly motivated with a political agenda); and 6) Judgmental (quick to judge others and not themselves). Yes, there will also be awesome bands, and creative communication!
